Background
Livey is an Icelandic tech company based in Reykjavík, offering a platform for professional live streaming and virtual events.
Their platform enables creators, artists, and organizations to easily host and monetize on live events with full control over access, payments, and audience interaction.
The product was up and running, but the UX had been somewhat of an afterthought. We were brought in to refine the experience — making it more distinctive, user-friendly, and visually appealing.
The challenge and process
This project was fairly straightforward and didn’t present any major challenges. Naturally, getting everyone aligned with the proposed design was important — and as a startup, this was very much someone’s baby.
The challenge and process
The technical structure was already in place, which limited how much we could influence from a UX perspective. In some areas, the tech dictated the design, but overall, the user experience turned out great.

Event sign-up and payment
A smooth event sign-up flow is crucial for this service. All interactions open in flyouts on the event page, keeping the user’s context intact.

Mobile design
The responsive design allows content to adapt naturally on smaller screens, stacking vertically or enabling horizontal scrolling where needed.
